The King's Speech (17/2/11)

Colin Firth plays a role of a speech impaired king. So how embarrassing it was for a king to be unable to even speak confidently in front of a large crowd on a important occasion. The introduction in this movie paints the picture for you. Not just the problem with articulation of words but only the pronunciation of the first alpherbet of his sentences were heard. This movie shows his journey of him regaining confidence and a much better ability for him to address a crowd by reading a 9 minutes long speech from the radio. Very well acted to portray the struggles that a speech impaired person suffers. That was why he is nominated for the academy awards in this film. Most of the scenes were of how his teacher gradually helped him to open and relax himself through various exercises and his frustration thrown towards his teacher. But could he play the role better? Only the speech impaired person can tell. Some scenes can be alittle boring, however the english cultured is much appreciated here. So that explains the formality and way of life. Many audiences like it but not really impressive for me. My rating: 3.5/5
